Coffee is more than an obsession.
Music is a way of life.
And shoes are joy.

even though you’re not my friend on facebook anymore YOU ARE ALWAYS ON MY NEWS FEED

stop being friends with my friends ffs. the forever problem of an ex.

I love how this whole ‘indie/alternative’ idea is fuelled by the idea of no judgements. So you can wear what you want, and listen to the music that you want, smoke/not smoke, drink/not drink, shave/not shave and this ‘indie/alternative’ movement will be all accepting and non-judgemental, because they are freeing their inner being and being their own ‘self.’

Yeah, right.

I’m sorry, but it’s bullshit.
Because the truth is…they are judging everyoneelse.

Now I can say this as a reliable source. I go to an arts college, where there are about as many indie 20-somethings as there is at Bar Open in Brunswick St on a Friday night. I.E - A LOT.
Now the guys are all wearing their chinos and funky patterned shirts and the girls are wearing their high waisted skirt/shorts/jeans/pants and various funky patterned shirts and clogs. I like the fashion, don’t get me wrong. This is not the point of my rant here, I am more painting a picture.

I write this with a specific person in mind. There’s this girl who I know, and she is the EXACT sort of person/group I am trying to explain. She is very, extremely alternative, and listens to free jazz-fusion-NYC-esque beats (which are awesome btw). She smokes, she doesn’t shave her armpits, she lives in a share house, she plays in an indie band and wears whatever she wants. One would think she would be a pretty cool character, and she is, I mean up until now I have thought of her as so cool. But recently, I’ve noticed her being judgemental of everyone elses opinion. That is, people who she’s not directly trying to impress. If someone says something about a certain style of music, or if they have been listening to something she isn’t into - the look she gives would be one you would give if someone genuinely thought nowadays the world was flat.

Ummmm….who are you??

Isn’t this whole culture of alternative people that we accept everyone/everything??
Even though I listen to jazz first and foremost, does that give me any reason to judge someone because they enjoy a good Taylor Swift chill out session on the train? Of course not.
The same goes with fashion, lifestyle choices, image in general. I think there is way too many people who stick their nose in the air to other people, it’s nauseating. We need to celebrate differences, not ostricise those who are different. For if we continue doing this, uniqueness will become extinct, and we’ll all become preprogrammed robots who only appreciate one way of living, as opposed to the many, beautiful ways of being alive.

Thank you so much :) I really like yours too! X

Sometimes I get into this really weird mood. It’s awful. I just go into this mean hole of my own and just get so grumpy and full of built up anger & confusion, and I consequently take it out on everyone else.

Don’t ask me why?

Oh wait, it’s my hormones. Disregard everything
